Teitelbaum to teach class on Book of Job

The Book of Job will be the topic of a class taught by Rabbi David Teitelbaum at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays Jan. 23 through Feb. 27 at Albert L. Schultz Jewish Community Center, 655 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto.

Teitelbaum is rabbi emeritus of Temple Beth Jacob in Redwood City, where he served for 38 years. He is now executive director of the Board of Rabbis of Northern California.

ALSJCC offering five Hebrew classes

Two intermediate level Hebrew classes will take place 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesdays Jan. 21 through March 18 at Albert L. Schultz Jewish Community Center, 655 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto.

Three beginning Hebrew classes will meet at 7, 8 and 9 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 22 through March 19.

B.J. Singles plans trip to see elephant seals

B.J. Singles 40+ plans a bus trip to Año Nuevo State Reserve to see elephant seals at 9 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 2.

The bus will pick up passengers at 9 a.m. at Hillsdale Shopping Center, San Mateo, and 9:20 a.m. in Half Moon Bay. It will return around 3:30 p.m. Cost is $12 for members, $14 for nonmembers. For reservations, call (415) 401-7668.
