The Richard and Rhoda Goldman Fund has authorized a $5 million grant to U.C. Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy — bringing the fund’s total investment in the school to more than $15 million.
The grant “will further increase the Goldman School’s visibility and encourage more people to seek education and careers in public policy,” Richard Goldman said in a press statement.
The S.F.-based Goldman Fund contributed $10 million in 1997 to the public policy school, which resulted in the school’s name change. Since then, the school has doubled the size of its graduate program. Last year, applications to the graduate program were up almost 30 percent.
