The results are in. More than 4,000 reviews of 180 Jewish nonprofits were posted online during GreatNonprofits’ Jewish Choice Awards, which began in October and concluded in November.

Jewish Milestones of Berkeley was named the “Best of the West” among medium-sized organizations, those with budgets of more than $250,000 and less than $1 million.

Jewish Milestones helps those who do not belong to a synagogue incorporate Jewish ritual into lifecycle events such as the birth of a baby, bar and bat mitzvahs, weddings and funerals. Milestones received 19 reviews.

Jewish Gateways in El Cerrito came close to winning “Best of the West” among small organizations, or those with budgets of less than $250,000, but a nonprofit in Southern California received just two more reviews than Jewish Gateways.

Sixty-four people posted reviews of Jewish Gateways, which reaches out to and provides educational opportunities for unaffiliated Jewish individuals and families.

All 180 organizations are listed at www.greatnonprofits.org/reviews/issues/jewish.
