Visitors to the Western Wall no longer have to hold cardboard kippahs on their heads when visiting the sacred site: The Western Wall Heritage Foundation has received a donation of 1 million nylon yarmulkes.
Flimsy cardboard head coverings have been offered to male visitors to the site for 40 years. The new white cloth yarmulkes, which were apparently made in China to cut costs, were given to the foundation Feb. 21.
Russian millionaire Michael Mirilashvili, who is also president of the World Congress of Georgian Jews, donated the yarmulkes in memory of his father, Moshe. — jpost.com
