Free activity training for caregivers of patients with Alzheimer’s and other cognitive impairment disorders will be offered by the Adult Day Services Network of Contra Costa in partnership with the Contra Costa JCC’s Millman Adult Day Program.
The training is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 21 at the Contra Costa JCC, 2071 Tice Valley Blvd., Walnut Creek. The Y & H Soda Foundation is sponsoring the workshop.
Kristin Einberger, co-author of “Strengthen Your Mind: Activities for People with Early Memory Loss,” will lead the session. Einberger is the program coordinator at the Fairfield Senior Day Program.
Participants, including staff, volunteers and professional and family caregivers, will gain skills in engaging people with memory loss.
The Adult Day Services Network is a nonprofit that promotes the 15 adult day services centers available throughout Contra Costa County.
The Millman Adult Day Program offers activities that inspire and motivate individuals facing the challenges of memory impairment due to Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease, stroke and related dementia disorders.
