Haifa Mayor Yona Yahav will visit San Francisco for a series of events marking the revitalized sister city relationship between the two municipalities.

Yahav will attend a screening of the Israeli film “The Matchmaker,” which is set in Haifa. The screening takes place 7 p.m. Nov. 17, at the Sundance Kabuki Theater, 1881 Post St., S.F. Tickets: $15 or $100 to attend a VIP reception with the mayor prior to the screening. Information: www.jewishfed.org.

The next morning, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom will host a private reception welcoming Yahav to City Hall. Yahav will speak at the World Affairs Council on the topic of Haifa as a model of co-existence in the Middle East.
