The Jewish Theatre (TJT) will have its last world premiere of an original stage work with “In the Maze of Our Own Lives,” a new play by TJT founder Corey Fischer.

Previews begin Oct. 15 at TJT’s San Francisco theater, with opening night set for Oct. 20. The run ends Nov. 13.

Set in 1931, “In the Maze of Our Own Lives” tells the story of the famed Group Theatre, a company of actors and playwrights — Lee Strasberg, Stella Adler and Clifford Odets among them — who came together during the Great Depression to create some of the greatest theater in American history.

TJT is set to close following the 2011-2012 season after 35 years in operation. The theater is located at 470 Florida St., S.F. For information or tickets, which are $15-$35, call (800) 838-3006 or visit www.tjt-sf.org.
