“Sigd and More” celebration November 4, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm $36 – $50 Jewish Silicon Valley celebrates Jewish and Black culture with a Sigd kabbalah shabbat service Nov. 4 and havdalah Nov. 5 celebrating the legacy of Black, African and Jewish collaboration. Sigd, observed by Ethiopian Jews and other African Jewish communities, marks the day thought to be when God first revealed himself to Moses. With melodies from the Beta Israel, Abayudaya, Lemba and Moroccan Jewish communities. Nov. 4 happy hour with North African flair, Ethiopian dinner and Shabbat service. Nov. 5 shabbat meal of soul food, clips from film “Shared Legacies” and conversation with two local African American Jews. One dinner $36, both dinners $50. Advance tickets required.
