Hussar became an Israeli citizen in 1966 and served as an adviser to the Israeli delegation to the United Nations after the 1967 Six Day War. He founded the House of Isaiah in Jerusalem, Center for the Study of Judeo-Christian Relations.

Survivors include a sister Denise Taranto of Paris and a niece, also of Paris.
