Los Altos fest draws diverse Jewish artists

The Los Altos Arts and Wine Festival on Saturday and Sunday, July 13 and 14, will feature works by four Bay Area Jewish artists.

Berkeley's Stacy Samuels, who owns Inter-stellar Propellers, will show whimsical baseball caps with propellers; Georgia and Harvey Cohen of Glen Ellen will display art made from hand-drawn colored seed packets; and Jon Kaplan of Oakland will present what he calls "ethnic or Third World" photographs. Kaplan has photographed in 50 countries, and hopes to earn enough at the Los Altos Arts and Wine Festival to travel to Israel.

The festival, which will showcase original work by 390 artists and craftspersons, will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in downtown Los Altos. For information, call (415) 949-5298.
