Eilberg and Matt to speak in free series

Peninsula Sinai Congregation will offer a three-part series titled "Derech Teshuvah — A Path of Returning" beginning at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10 and continuing through and Oct. 1.

Rabbi Amy Eilberg, former director of Kol Haneshama, the Jewish hospice program of the Jewish Healing Center of the San Francisco Bay Area, will speak on "To Know: Teshuvah and Healing" on Sept. 10, and on "To Do: Teshuvah and Healing" Sept. 17. Daniel Matt, professor of Jewish spirituality at Berkeley's Graduate Theological Union, will address "Finding God in Everyday Life" on Oct. 1

Movie musical in Palo Alto

Portraying Mack Sennett, director of pie-in-the-face two-reelers, and his star Mabel Normand are Elizabeth Traub and Fred Eiras in the Palo Alto Players production of "Mack & Mabel." Jewish songwriter Jerry Herman wrote the music. The show opens Thursday, Sept. 12 and runs through Saturday, Sept. 29 at Lucie Stern Theater, 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto.
