At Hadassah, Blackman was a Marina-Pacific group president and a membership vice president on group and chapter levels; she was on the elected board of directors of the chapter as HMO chair. She also was a board member of Bar-Ilan University, Shaare Zedek Hospital and ORT, and past trustee and sisterhood president of Congregation Anshey Sfard in San Francisco.
Services were held at Sinai Memorial Chapel in San Francisco.
