Rogelio Chichowolsky, treasurer of the Delegation of Argentine Jewish Associations (DAIA), the country’s Jewish umbrella group, said the gravestone attack “might be part of a larger movement” because anti-Semitic fliers were recently found near the cemetery.

In the past five years, eight attacks on Jewish cemeteries have damaged more than 400 headstones. The bombing of the Jewish headquarters killed dozens of people and has gone unsolved, prompting strong criticism from local Jewish groups.
