One-man Chanukah show set for Santa Clara Marriott

To celebrate Chanukah, Chabad of the Greater South Bay will present Reuvane Russell in a one-man a show titled “Gathering The Sparks,” followed by a concert by Rabbi Moshe “Mickey” Shur at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10 at Santa Clara Marriott, 2700 Mission College Blvd.

Russell’s show features a variety of characters including Rabbi Meir Kahane, an Israeli soldier, a Jewish mother, a Hollywood agent, an Islamic fundamentalist and a mystical Chassid. The actor has performed nationally in Neil Simon’s “The Sunshine Boys,” which starred Mickey Rooney and Donald O’Connor.

Shur, a composer and folk- singer, is director of the Queens College Hillel foundation in New York. He has recorded eight albums, his most recent being “King David Sang…”
