Holocaust survivors Lucille Eichengreen of Berkeley and Bernard Offen of Krakow, Poland will serve on a Feb. 11 panel.

Steve Watrous of Sonoma State University will discuss “History of Germany 1918-1945” on Feb. 18.

“Race, Racism, and Persecution,” will be the topic Feb. 25, with Paul Benko of Sonoma State University and Dr. Michael Thaler of UCSF Medical Center.

Rob Colman of Sonoma State University will speak March 4 on “Conscience.”

Nechama Tec of the University of Connecticut will address “Forms of Resistance” on March 11 in Person Theatre.

Myrna Goodman of Sonoma State University will talk March 18 about “Resistance in Denmark.” John Felstiner of Stanford University will speak March 25 on “Poetry and Resistance, Survival, Recovery.”

Beard and Hartmann return April 8 to address “Holocaust Consciousness in Germany.”

Hiroki Sugihara, son of the Japanese diplomat who rescued thousands of Jews during World War II, will speak April 15 on “The Chiune Sugihara Story: `Visas for Life.'”

René van Rooyen, United Nations high commissioner for refugees, will address “Current Genocides: Burundi” on April 22.

Armand Volkas of the Living Arts Theater Lab will speak on “Acts of Reconciliation” on April 29. Rudolf Vrba of the University of British Columbia will present “Resisting Evil: A Personal Account” on May 6.

The final event in the series, May 13, will be a faculty-student panel discussion on “What Have We Learned?”
