Grist also will be part of a lecture series titled "Journeys with Scholars" when he speaks at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, April 10 on his recent trip to Israel as scholar-in-residence for the Pathways to the Heart Tour, co-sponsored with the Jewish Federation of the Greater East Bay. Also during the series, Cantor David Unterman of Congregation Beth Am in Los Altos Hills will talk about traditional and contemporary Jewish music in honor of Jewish Music Month at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6. Cost is $4 each for ALSJCC members and those over age 65, and $5 for nonmembers. In addition, biblical studies instructor Haya Fried will address "The Influence of Folklore on Jewish Customs" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6.
