At 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, singer-songwriter Fran Avni will perform a concert for children, which will begin with dinner at the BRJCC. The meal is $2 for children, $5 for adults, and the concert is $2 for children, $4 for adults. Children who wish to come without an adult guardian may attend under the supervision of the BRJCC Youth Department Staff. Cost is $16 per child and $8 for each additional sibling. Gerry Tenney and the members of California Klezmer will lead amateur and professional musicians of all ages in the festival's annual jam session at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 5 at BRJCC. Cost is $5 for students and seniors, $6 for BRJCC members and $8 for nonmembers. On Thursday, March 6 Yiddish folk and theater music expert Zalmen Mlotek will perform highlights from 100 years of Yiddish musical history. Joining him will be Braitman and violinist Daniel Hoffman. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. at St. John's Presbyterian Church, 2727 College Ave., Berkeley. Tickets are $14 for students and seniors, $15 for BRJCC members and $18 for nonmembers. "Jazz, Blues and More: Improvisations on Jewish Themes" will close the festival at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 9 at St. John's. Performers will be jazz violinist Jeremy Cohen, blues pianist Hurricane Sam, singer Richard Kaplan and pianist-bassist Fredric Zimmerman.
