Scholar-in-residence at Netivot Shalom Barry W. Holtz, associate professor of Jewish education at Jewish Theological Seminary of America, will be scholar-in-residence at Berkeley's Congregation Netivot Shalom March 14 and 15. His topic will be "Tales from the Talmud: How to Read the Legends about the Rabbis" in his talk following 7:30 p.m. services Friday, March 14. After 7:30 p.m. havdallah Saturday, March 15, he will speak on "Beggars on the Streets: Rabbinic Texts about Giving or Not Giving to the Poor We Meet."
