Comedian Josh Kornbluth will open Marin Jewish Community Center’s “Solo Spotlights” series with his one-man show “Ben Franklin: Unplugged” at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8 at 200 N. San Pedro Road, San Rafael.
He will repeat the show at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9. Kornbluth’s work explores Franklin’s relationship with his son William, and attempts to answer the question, “Why did William Franklin become his father’s bitterest enemy and side with the British during the Revolution?”
Second in the series will be Lane Nishikawa, playwright and performer, who will present a revised version of his one-man show “I’m on a Mission from Buddha” at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17 and 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18.
Hazelle Goodman will present “Things Going On” from her HBO special at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7 and 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8. She was featured in Woody Allen’s new project “Deconstructing Harry.”
Lisa Kron will perform “2.5 Minute Ride,” a trip through her personal family album, at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28 and 5 p.m. Sunday March 1.
Finally Sherry Glaser will present “Family Secrets,” her long-running one-woman show, at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 4 and 5 p.m. Sunday April 5.
