Correspondent | December 5, 1997 Volunteer director Max Shapiro — who also created the MJCC's Marin Mini Hoops program for kindergarten through second-grade boys and girls — will run the Girls Basketball Association. An experienced basketball coach, Shapiro is a past president of the MJCC, served as an National Basketball Association scout for four years and directed youth basketball camps for more than 20 years. Each participant will receive a youth basketball and a JCC Girls Basketball Association T-shirt. Cost is $115 per player.
