Michael Strassfeld to lead events Rabbi Michael Strassfeld will lead Shabbat morning services at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10 at Berkeley Hillel, 2736 Bancroft Way, near College Avenue. The services, which are free, will include liturgy, silence and extended singing of niggunim, or Jewish spiritual melodies. That night at 7:30 p.m. at Hillel, Strassfeld will lead a Melavah Malka. During this ceremony, the Shabbat will be escorted away with singing, dancing and teaching. The fee is $15. The next day from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Strassfeld will teach a class, "Bringing Bits of Holiness into Everyday Life" at Chochmat HaLev, 2525 Eighth Street #13, Berkeley. The fee is $15.
