Amos Oz will speak Jan. 8 at S.F.'s Herbst

Israeli novelist Amos Oz will speak at 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8 at Herbst Theatre, 401 Van Ness Ave., S.F.

Oz won the International Frankfurt Peace Prize in 1992. He has written more than 18 books, including "Don't Call It Night" and "A Perfect Peace."

Bereavement group will start on Jan. 6

A 10-week bereavement group workshop dealing with loss of parents will begin Tuesday, Jan. 6 at Jewish Family and Children's Services, 1600 Scott St., S.F.
