"Where we are today and how we get to where we want to be tomorrow!" is the theme of a weekend of lectures by Rabbi David Saperstein, director of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism. Saperstein will talk about "Politics, Jewish Politics, Jewish Values" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 13 at Peninsula Temple Beth El, 1700 Alameda del las Pulgas, San Mateo. An afternoon workshop, also at the synagogue, on how individual Jews and the community can be an effective force for social change. Saperstein's keynote "Judaism and the Religious Right: Facts and Myths" is is slated for 7 p.m. Saturday, March 14 at the synagogue. For information, call (650) 341-7701. Also at Beth El, Rabbi Stephen Pearce of San Francisco's Congregation Emanu-El will discuss how a Jew should think about the Jewish homeland in light of history and the contemporary political scene.
