Group set up for children of survivors

An eight-week discussion group for people whose parents were Jews in Nazi Europe, survivors of camps, in hiding or refugees who fled before the war begins Thursday, Sept. 10 in San Francisco. The course deals with the experience of growing up in a survivor family, thoughts and feelings about the Holocaust, attitudes toward Jews and non-Jews, remembrance and recovery.

Sheryl Groden of the Holocaust Survivor Project will coordinate the 7 to 8: 30 p.m. sessions, which are $20 each, sliding scale. Registration deadline is Thursday, Aug. 27. For information, call Groden at (415) 561-1244.

Survivors can apply for pension increase

Holocaust survivors who receive a Damage to Health pension from Germany under the German Federal Law of Compensation can apply for an increase of their pension in case of deterioration due to a condition known as persecution illness.
