"AOL members can go to keyword: Jewish to find just about anything Jewish. But until now, they couldn't find our most sacred text," said Klein, who is also the editor and publisher of the Jewish Bulletin of Northern California.

The online version of the Torah is currently available by chapter; users are eventually expected to be able to access the weekly portions of the Torah as well. More than 150,000 AOL members use the Jewish community area each month for information about Judaism and Israel.

The Living Torah, an English translation of the sacred text, is also available on the American ORT web site at bible.ort.org
