Call for volunteers to drive survivors

Jewish Family and Children’s Services is recruiting community members to volunteer as friendly visitors with older adults who are survivors of the Holocaust, as well as drivers for the JFCS social program from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursdays. Volunteers must be able to work with elders, be sensitive to individuals’ experiences in the Holocaust and have knowledge of or interest in learning about the era. JFCS is looking for volunteers to commit four to six hours each month for a year. Training will be provided. For information, call Sheryl Groden at (415) 561-1244.
