“We’re holding the open house to celebrate the joining of our agencies and that we’re working together for the betterment of the Sonoma Jewish community,” said Mike Mundell, president of the JCA.
“The event will give the Sonoma community a chance to find out about new programs, nosh a little and shmooze a lot.”
In July, the federation and JCA joined forces to bring more Jewish programs and services to Sonoma County. The federation’s annual campaign will take place under the auspices of the Sonoma County JCF/JCA.
“Together we will raise and allocate dollars in support of the local Jewish community, as well as Jewish communities in Israel and throughout the world,” Mundell said.
A brief program introducing the new relationship and the people involved will take place along with the mezuzah-hanging.
On hand will be Mundell; Henry Libicki, chairman of the Sonoma County Regional Council; Andrea Goodman, event chair; Carolyn Metz, director of JCF/JCA; and other JCA and Sonoma County Regional Council members and JCF/JCA staff. They will be available to talk to community members about fall activities and services such as becoming active on the teen advisory committee and how to rent movies from the newly acquired Jewish Heritage Video Collection of 200 modern, classical and historical films.
