New MJCC institute offers short courses The Marin Jewish Community Center is offering courses and workshops at its new Community Learning Institute. The institute operates over four consecutive Monday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. starting Oct. 19. Participants may choose one of six subjects for the four weeks: Creating Contemporary Jewish Art for the Home; Jewish Food for Thought, a cooking course; Family Issues through the Lens of the Torah; From Rebel to Rabbi: Jewish Perspectives on Jesus; Meditation and Kabbalah; The Saga of King Saul and the Rise of David. The institute is co-sponsored by the Adult Education Consortium made up of the MJCC, congregations Kol Shofar and Rodef Sholom and Lehrhaus Judaica.
