Jewish Life Milestones Shopping, outings turn into mitzvot Facebook Twitter Email SMS WhatsApp Share By J. Correspondent | April 21, 2000 Being a volunteer is one of the most pleasurable experiences of my life! In the 18 years I have I been volunteering at the Jewish Home, I have met many interesting people and have come to consider these friends my extended family. I volunteer as a personal shopper for residents who are unable to shop for themselves and do not have family to shop for them. Finding just the right item is sometimes a challenge, but it is all worthwhile if the purchase is appreciated. I also act as a volunteer escort when the residents go on a lunch outing. I can't forget the smile it brings to their faces when they have the chance to order from the menu. J. Correspondent Also On J.
