The San Jose Jewish Film Festival was founded nine years ago, under the name South Bay Jewish Film Series. The annual event was started by a group of three film enthusiasts. Since its inception in 1991, the festival has grown from three to between 30 and 50 active members. The festival is a volunteer-based association, operating under the auspices of the Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center of Silicon Valley in Los Gatos. The Town Theatre is situated at 1433 The Alameda in San Jose, between Naglee and Race streets. Individual tickets cost $7.50 for adults and $5 for seniors and students. Subscription packages also are available. For information, contact www.sjjff.org or (408) 358-5929.
