Koret offers more aid to synagogues Facebook Twitter Email SMS WhatsApp Share By J. Correspondent | October 20, 2000 The initiative aims to provide resources, including staff, for new programs that increase member and non-member involvement in synagogue life. One-third of the cost of such resources will be covered by the initiative, with the remaining amount to be funded by the synagogue and appropriate federation or other source. The Koret Synagogue Initiative has worked with Congregation Beth Am in Los Altos Hills, Congregation Kol Shofar in Tiburon, Peninsula Temple Sholom in Burlingame, Congregation Beth David in Saratoga, Temple Sinai in Oakland and Congregation Rodef Sholom in San Rafael. Three San Francisco synagogues — Congregations Sherith Israel, Beth Sholom and Emanu-El — also experimented with new programs made possible by Koret contributions. Instructions and guidelines for synagogues may be obtained by calling the Koret Foundation at (415) 882-7740, or by visiting the Web site at www.koretfoundation.org. J. Correspondent Also On J.
