1,500 to mark Havdallah in Oakland Hills

For astronomy buffs, the program includes talks on the Mars Pathfinder and "Astronomy and Judaism," as well as star gazing at the Chabot Observatory and "The Sky Tonight," a featured planetarium show.

Students from East Bay Hebrew and Jewish day schools will perform in a song festival. Other entertainment includes "Jewish Family Flicks on Short Subjects" and an "Intergalactic" dance for teens.

Kosher food will be available. Jewish community organizations will offer informational exhibits. A free shuttle service will transport visitors who park in lots not adjacent to the center.

Admission is $15 for adults, $8 for children over 3, free for those under 3.
