(JTA) — An Atlanta-area cantor resigned after embezzling synagogue funds.

Steven Weiss of Temple Kol Emeth in Marietta, Ga., resigned last month after admitting he used money from his synagogue’s discretionary fund for personal use, according to the Atlanta Jewish Times.

An audit of the temple’s books uncovered the embezzling, though it is not clear how much money Weiss took.
