Jewish Life In first person… San Francisco native recalls myriad kosher eateries here Facebook Twitter Email SMS WhatsApp Share By J. Correspondent | February 14, 2003 I am a senior, born and raised in San Francisco. A recent front page had a large article about kosher restaurants in San Francisco, and how there weren't many. As a very young girl, I remember going to a kosher restaurant each week on Turk and Taylor streets called Prizer's. There was also a kosher restaurant called White's on Golden Gate Avenue. McAllister Street was filled with kosher delis, and Fillmore also. San Francisco had many kosher places to cater to our people. They are all gone now. I am sure many of us that are still living in San Francisco will recall what I have remembered. My father and mother enjoyed those days. My father was brought up in a kosher house. J.
