Hanna Zemer, journalist, dies

JERUSALEM (JPS) — Hanna Zemer, Israel’s first female editor-in-chief of a major newspaper and a pillar of the Israeli left, died March 6 in a Tel Aviv hospital.

Zemer served as a reporter and political correspondent of the now-defunct Labor Party daily Davar, where she was editor-in-chief from 1970 to 1990.
