Where to find Israeli-made products in Marin County

Some local grocery stores carry a limited number of Israeli foods. By far, the best selection of Israeli food products we found was at Scotty's Market in Terra Linda. A large line of Elite chocolates can be found at Scotty's Market in the kosher section. The elite candy bars (especially the twist bars) are delicious. Angel Jerusalem cakes are available. A variety of canned vegetables from Bnei Darom and vegetable spreads made by Meditalia are also found. Osem brand soups, pasta, latke mix, falafel mix and matzah ball mix are also present. Agam Hagalil fruit spreads and Tuv Haaretz olives may also be purchased here. Wissotozky tea, spring fruit nectars and Gold Malt Beer are available as beverages. Matzah rishon is for sale, along with Adin candies and Elite Turkish coffee. In the Scotty's Market freezer section several Israeli frozen dinners are available for purchase manufactured for Sabra Pastries Company. In the dairy section, Pree-Lee yogurt drinks, Aviv cheeses and Picnic Time salads and hummus-type spreads are found.

Mollie Stone's in Greenbrae carries Elite candies, Osem tea cookies, Barman fruits, Erote products and Beigel & Beigel pretzels.

Andronico's in San Anselmo stocks Telma and Osem brand falafel mix, Rokeach shabat candles and Osem tea biscuits.

The small Persian market, Hatam on B Street in San Rafael, stocks a nice selection of Israeli products. The Osem and Elite brands are carried there. Also, candles, chips, canned goods, cookies, candies, and coffee from Israel are available there.

Israel is also the home of two brands of comfort shoes which can be purchased locally. Shoes on Fourth, in San Rafael stocks Naot Israeli comfort sandals. Sole Desire on Third Street in San Rafael stocks both Naot and BeautiFeel shoes.

By chance, at Costco we found nice comforter covers and linens called Royal Sateen by Kitan Textile Industries of Israel. Israeli matzot for Passover are a great buy there also.

The gift shop at the Osher Marin JCC stocks beautiful handmade religious articles from Israel. Challah and matzah covers, kiddush cups, candle sticks and menorahs can be found there.

Other Israeli food brands that are exported include Carmel and Yarden wines, Argrinin olive oil, Achava halva
