Member of Hadassah and Temple Israel in Vallejo for many years before moving to Walnut Creek. Graveside services were held in Vallejo. Sobol, Ann In Novi, Mich., Sept. 20. Age 90. Wife of the late Oscar J. Sobol. Mother of Dr. Dennis R. Sobol. Grandmother of Sandra L. (and Jamie) Berk and Gregory R. Sobol. Great-grandmother of Logan Oscar Berk. Sister of Charles (and Peggy) Warshaw, Dr. Louis (and Ellen) Warshaw, Libby (and Leo Sklar), and the late Harry and Irving Warshaw. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Former Alameda resident. Past president of Alameda Unified School District Teachers Association and served at higher levels of district and state PTA positions. Received an award of life membership to the California Parent Teachers Association. Member of Temple Israel of Alameda and served several terms as the temple’s sisterhood president. Served on many East Bay Jewish councils and committees. Board member of Alameda County Lung Association. Services were held at Hebrew Memorial Chapel in Oak Park, Mich., and Beth Israel Memorial Chapel in Del Ray Beach, Fla. Interment at The Eternal Light Memorial Gardens in Boynton Beach, Fla. Grandfather of Patricia Zanger, Danielle Shirley Furlich, Jonathan Shirley. Great-grandfather of Eli Zanger Reeves and Konrad Furlich. Born Oct. 13, 1908 in Frankfurt, Germany. Immigrated to Ecuador in 1959, where he was a leader of the Ecuadorian Jewish community. Moved to San Francisco in 1953. Graveside services were held at Eternal Home Cemetery, Colma, under the direction of Sinai Memorial Chapel. Donations to the Jewish charity of your choice.
