Engagements

Jennifer Lynn Bloom of San Mateo, daughter of Mimi and Bill Bloom of Redwood City, and Adam Edward Smith of San Francisco, son of Laura Gershon and Jules Smith of Milwaukee, have announced their engagement.

Jennifer received a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies and a teaching credential from San Francisco State University. She is a first-grade teacher in Portola Valley and a member of Peninsula Temple Sholom. She is the sister of Heather Saffren Bloom (and Joshua Saffren) of San Carlos.

Adam received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Winona State University. He works in sales. Grandparents are Elsie Smith and Milton Gershon, both of Milwaukee.

They met a year ago at a Jewish singles event in San Francisco. An August wedding is planned.

Kimberly Fraind of Fremont, daughter of Susan Spivock of Lafayette and Jack Fraind, and Edward Wies of Fremont, eldest son of Joyce and David Wies of Cupertino, have announced their engagement.

Kimberly received a bachelor’s degree in ethnic studies from Cal State Hayward. Edward is an information technology administrator for ATS Systems California Inc.

The couple met through JDate Internet dating service. They are planning a June 27 wedding in Santa Clara.
