Weddings

Harriet Jacobs and Don Fernandez were married Oct. 26 at Congregation Beth David in Saratoga. Rabbi Daniel Pressman officiated. A reception was held at California Café in Los Gatos.

Harriet is recently retired from biotech sales with Johnson & Johnson. She is the mother of Jill Jacobs of Boston and Hilary Jacobs of San Mateo.

Don is an executive search consultant and mortgage broker. He is past president of the Addison Penzak Jewish Community Center of Silicon Valley and has been a member of Congregation Beth David for 31 years. He is the father of David Fernandez and Lori Krauss of Saratoga, Scott Fernandez of Cupertino and Stacy Fernandez of San Jose.

Harriet and Don met on JDate Internet dating service in January 2003. The wedding was family only, with guests attending from the Bay Area, Boston, Denver and Los Angeles.

After a Caribbean cruise honeymoon, the newlyweds are living in their new home in The Villages in San Jose.

Stacey Heller of Foster City and Adam Sager of Larkspur were married Oct. 26, 2003, at the Westin St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco. Rabbi Pinchas Lipner, dean of Hebrew Academy, officiated.

Stacey studied history at the University of Pennsylvania, received her juris doctor from Cardozo School of Law and is a lawyer in New York. She is the daughter of Etta and David Heller of Foster City and the sister of Andrew Heller. She is the granddaughter of Simon Heller of Cape Town, South Africa; the late Sonia Heller; and the late Yetta and Morris Shell.

Adam lived in Israel for six years, where he studied philosophy at the Hebrew University and was a combat soldier in the Israeli army. He currently works in corporate security in New York. He is the son of Karen and Steve Sager of Larkspur and the brother of Julie Sager of New York. Grandparents are Evie Gilbert, a native of San Francisco; Martin and Sara Sager of Florida; and the late Harry Abramovitz.

Adam and Stacey were introduced in New York by their friend, Foster City resident Amir Agam, although Adam remembered her from their teen years. They had met just once at a Bay Area BBYO dance and Adam had never forgotten her.

The newlyweds are living in Manhattan.
