Weddings

Clarissa Kripke and Gail Ludwig were married Feb. 14 at City Hall in San Francisco.

Clarissa is a family physician. She is the daughter of Z and Dan Kripke of San Diego, the sister of Gawain Kripke of Washington, D.C., and the granddaughter of Ann Kripke of San Diego.

Gail is a planned giving officer. She is the daughter of Barbara and Jack Ludwig and the sister of Jon Ludwig, all of King of Prussia, Penn.

Clarissa and Gail are active members of Congregation Sha’ar Zahav. The San Francisco residents have lived together for 10 years, and are raising their 2-year-old son, Rami Harel Kripke-Ludwig.

Bob Schwartz and Mark Singer were married Feb. 16 at City Hall in San Francisco, after more than 26 years together and five hours of standing in the rain.

Bob received a bachelor’s degree in Spanish civilization from American University in Washington, D.C., spending his junior year at the University of Madrid. He is the son of Ina and Bill Schwartz of Santa Barbara and the brother of Linda Schwartz of Santa Barbara and Vicki Schwartz Beaver of Ventura. Grandparents are the late Amelia and Edmund Weinberg and the late Rebecca Kamer and Rabbi Mordechai Leib Schwartz.

Mark received a bachelor’s degree from State University of New York, Stony Brook. He is the son of Leon Singer of Port Jervis, N.Y., and the late Regina Singer, both Holocaust survivors. He is the brother of Ruth Singer Bodner of Montclair and Dr. Al Singer of Chevy Chase, Md. Grandparents are the late Esther and Shoyel Singer and the late Bertha and Avraham Langer.

The couple met while they were graduate students at Yale University, where Bob received a master’s in public health and Mark received a master’s in philosophy and biology. Both are currently employed at UCSF.

Witnesses to the marriage were Allan Grill and Jay Schnyder, good friends of the couple. Bob and Mark live in Berkeley and are planning a honeymoon to Italy and Israel.
