President of Hillel during his college years. Moved to San Francisco in 1945, following three years service in the armed forces constructing bridges and roads in India during World War II. Active as a temple docent at Congregation Emanu-El and longtime member of Emanu-El’s building committee. Founding member and confirmation class teacher in the 1950s at Daly City’s Temple Judaea, now known as Beth Israel-Judea. In the 1960s in Daly City, twice served as Cub master for Pack 63 and PTA president for Olympia School. President of the Westlake Homeowners Improvement Association. Active in the Golden Gate Springer Spaniel Association. Funeral services were held at Home of Peace Cemetery Chapel, Colma. Graduated from Commerce High School in 1937. Founding member of the Santa Rosa chapter of Hadassah and the Santa Rosa Jewish Community Center. Served on the Sonoma County Grand Jury from 1969-1970. Honored by the city of San Francisco on her 80th birthday, when Jan. 6, 1999, was proclaimed Mollie Cohen Schwartz Day. Services were held at the Santa Rosa Memorial Park, with interment following.
