Azoff, David In Kansas City, Mo., April 15. Husband of the late Ruth Azoff. Father of Suzanne (and Jason) Markowsky. Grandfather of Sophia and Roxanne Markowsky. Cousin of Robert and Lillian Kurtz. Santa Rosa resident. Born in Iran. Moved to San Francisco at a young age. Attended Stanford University. Served in the National Guard. Owned Component Sales Inc. with his wife. Active member of the Kiwanis Club. Services were held at Hillcrest Mausoleum, Santa Rosa Memorial Park. Interment followed. Arrangements by Lance and Eggen Mortuary.

Jachimowicz, Nathan In San Francisco, April 9. Age 84. Husband of Esther Jachimowicz. Father of Myra (and Fred) Herpe, Rosie (and Sheldon) Past and Albie (and Ria) Jachimowicz. Grandfather of Barry (and Janie) Herpe, Danny Herpe, Dena (and Roger) Kline, Melissa and Robbie Past and Leah, Joshua and Rachel Jachimowicz. Survived incarceration in Dachau concentration camp during World War II. Freed by the American armed forces. Relocated to Chester, Pa., by Jewish relief organizations, where he opened a tailor shop. Moved to San Francisco in 1962, taking a job as a suit maker at United Artists. Owner of Emerald Cleaners for 35 years with his wife. Funeral services were held at Sinai Memorial Chapel, S.F., with interment following at Eternal Home Cemetery, Colma. Donations to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, 100 Raoul Wallenberg Place, S.W., Washington, D.C. 20024. 

Jacobson, Ruth In San Francisco, March 25. Age 93. Born Dec. 4, 1911. Sister-in-law of Werner Hamburger. Known as “Auntie Ruth” to the Schaie, Angress, Mattimore and Berlinger families. Services were held at The Sequoias, S.F. Burial at Home of Peace Cemetery, Colma. Donations to the Jewish charity of your choice.

Lewis, Joanne Sosnick In Daly City, April 22. Age 95. Wife of the late Al Lewis. Mother of Valerie (and Robert) Rudee. Grandmother of Larry Rudee and Melanie Villa. Great-grandmother of Danielle, Victoria and Elise Villa. Sister of the late Gedilah, Melvin and Ben Sosnick, Esther Bloch and Henrittee Castle. Native of San Francisco. Former resident of Honolulu, Hawaii. Survivor of the Pearl Harbor bombing. Funeral services were held at Congregation Beth Israel-Judea, S.F., under the direction of Sinai Memorial Chapel. Entombment at Salem Memorial Park, Colma. Donations to City Of Hope, c/o Sylvia Levinson, 54 Pinehaven Drive, Daly City, CA 94015.

Litsky, Ruth G. At the Jewish Home in San Francisco, April 20. Age 89. Wife of the late Dr. Albert D. Litsky for 35 years. Mother of Dell Rubin, Sharon L. Litsky (and John F. Sampson) and the late Joyce Litsky. Grandmother of Karolyn Rubin Villafane, Kenneth (and Leslie) Rubin and the late Kevin Rubin. Grandmother-in-law of Rika Rubin. Great-grandmother of Rudi Villafane and Lucy, Peter and Kai Rubin. Aunt and great-aunt to many. Born Feb. 10, 1915 in Chicago. Married Albert and raised her family in Detroit. Several years after her husband’s death, she moved to Burlingame in 1982, where she lived until 2001. At her request, no services were held. Arrangements by the Neptune Society.
