Heather Rubin and Shachar Erez were married April 4 in Benicia. Rabbi Bruce Kadden of Temple Beth El in Salinas officiated.

The bride received a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from Cal State Chico with a minor in modern Jewish and Israeli studies. She will soon begin work with San Francisco Hillel. She is the daughter of Lynn Edinger of Benicia and Marvin Rubin of Salinas and the sister of Kim Rubin of Chico and Jeff Edinger of Moorpark. Grandparents are June E. Rubin of Mill Valley, Leonard Rubin of San Rafael and the late Beverly and Robert Field.

The groom received a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Hadassah College in Jerusalem and is a computer programmer. He is the son of Anat and Mike Erez of Kibbutz Tzora and the brother of Tal Erez of Tel Aviv, and Oren and Moran Erez, also of Kibbutz Tzora. Grandparents are Florie and Arieh Paz of Kibbutz Tzora, Ann Kosowitz of Herzliya and the late Leo Kosowitz.

The couple met while Heather was living and teaching on Kibbutz Tzora. They are living in San Rafael.
