Holy Land honey to sweeten holidays Facebook Twitter Email SMS WhatsApp Share By J. Correspondent | August 6, 2004 It’s a pretty sweet deal just in time for Rosh Hashanah. The Jewish Community Federation of the Greater East Bay presents “Honey for the Holidays,” a new offer to purchase real honey from the Land of Milk and Honey. The project is part of federation’s People to People With Israel program The honey comes from the federation’s sister cities, Kiryat Malachi and Hof Ashkelon in southern Israel. Both towns are home to high numbers of unemployed immigrants from Ethiopia and the former Soviet Union. The honey is $18 a jar, with each purchase triggering a free second jar to an Israeli family in need. To order, visit www.jfed.org/honeyfortheholidays or call (510) 839-2900, ext. 204. To make it in time to dip your apples, orders must be placed by Thursday, Aug. 12. J. Correspondent Also On J.
