Rosenthal of Montgomery, Texas, and Harold (Hal) Nathan Kelton, son of Marcy Jae Levin of Monterey and Richard M. Kelton of Palm Coast, Fla., have announced their engagement. The bride-to-be received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Kansas and a multiple-subject teaching credential with an emphasis in cross-cultural language and academic development from U.C. Berkeley. She is an elementary school teacher. She is a member of the International Reading Association, the National Education Association and the California Teachers Association. Grandparents are the late Betty and Harry N. Schwartz, and the late Ida and William Rosenthal. Her fiancé is an architectural hardware consultant, certified door consultant and construction documents technologist. He co-owns Sierra Pacific Sales and Consulting. He is a guest lecturer for the Door Hardware Institute and a volunteer national instructor for its credentialing program. An Oct. 10 wedding at Congregation Beth Israel in Carmel Valley is planned.
