The bride received a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from SUNY Purchase and a master’s degree from the Parsons School of Design. She is a marketing and communications consultant to architects and designers. She is the daughter of Anita Carol Gyllenhoff of Hilton Head, S.C., and Daniel David Sherr of Washington Depot, Conn. She is the sister of Peter B. Sherr of Riverside, Conn., and Katherine C. Blanque of Toulouse, France. Grandparents are the late Mary and George Sherr; Mildred Duchacek of Dumont, N.J.; and the late Ralph Duchacek. The groom received a bachelor’s degree in science from Yale, a master’s degree from Columbia and a master’s degree in business administration from Stanford. He teaches middle-school math at the Fieldston School for Ethical Culture in Riverdale, N.Y. He is the son of Margery Geilich Kurtz of New York City, and Anthony D. Kurtz of Ridgewood, N.J. He is the brother of Jennifer Ungar of Israel. Grandparents are the late Martha and Harold Geilich, and the late Claire and Jacob “Jack” Kurtz. Maid of honor was Katherine C. Blanque. Bridesmaids were Stefanie E. Lew and Karen C. Sherr. Best man was David Kurtz. Ushers were Barry Johnson and Bruce Reingold. After a honeymoon in Sicily, the newlyweds are living in New York. Illana Gay Zauderer and Aaron Hyman Parker were married March 28 at Congregation Kol Shofar in Tiburon. Rabbi Lavey Derby officiated. The bride received a bachelor’s degree in music from Stanford University. She then studied acting at Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. She is an actress, singer, voice and b’nai mitzvah teacher, and jewelry designer. She is the daughter of Shanee and Hank Zauderer of Aptos. The groom graduated Phi Beta Kappa from U.C. Santa Cruz. He received a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He is a real estate brokerage agent. He is the son of Ruth and Rod Parker of San Francisco. Matron of honor was Heather Cousins. Best man was Steven Kameny. After a honeymoon in Israel, the newlyweds are living in Sausalito. Michael Bettinger and Robert Goldstein were married Aug. 8 at Hevreh of Southern Berkshire in Great Barrington, Mass. Rabbi Deborah Zecher officiated. Reception was at the home of Ruth and Jeff Bettinger. Bettinger received a bachelor of art’s degree from Brooklyn College, City University of N.Y. in 1967. He received a master of art’s degree in counseling psychology from New York University in 1971. He received a Ph.D. in family clinical psychology from the California Graduate School of Marital and Family Therapy (Argossy University.) He was a marriage and family therapist. He is retired. He is the son of the late Beatrice and Abraham Bettinger. He is the brother of Brad Bettinger of San Francisco and Jeff Bettinger of Miami and Great Barrington, Mass. Grandparents are the late Rose and Lewis Shuhandler of Brooklyn, N.Y., and the late Cecilia and Joseph Bettinger of Brooklyn, N.Y. Goldstein received a bachelor of art’s degree from New York University in 1967. He received a doctor of law degree from Tulane University in New Orleans in 1970. He received a master’s degree in public health from U.C. Berkeley in 1975. He is the director of continuing medical education programs for the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine. He is the son of the late Syliva and Max U. Goldstein. He is the brother of Janet Stoller of Belmont and the late Leonard Goldstein. Grandparents are the late Sadie and Oscar Jacobson of Bronx, N.Y., and the late Rose and Louis Goldstein of Bronx, N.Y. The couple met on Dec. 24, 1986, in San Francisco, and lived together for 17 years before establishing residence in Massachusetts. After a honeymoon in Manhattan, the newlyweds are spending time in both of their homes in San Francisco and Great Barrington, Mass. Romy Hillary Slatt and John Pavolotsky were married June 19 at the Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco. Judge Joseph Wapner officiated. The bride graduated from the University of Washington. She is an investment counselor at Bailard, Biehl and Kaiser. She is the daughter of Rolly and Barry Slatt of San Mateo. She is the sister of Melinda Slatt-Friedeberg of Hillsborough and Robert Slatt of San Francisco. She is the aunt of Halle and Andrew Friedeberg. Grandparents are Ruth Leddel of San Marino, and the late Harry Leddel, the late Faye Slatt and the late Harry Slatt. The groom graduated from the University of California at San Diego and the University of California at Davis Law School. He is a corporate lawyer. His is the son of Marianna and Ilya Pavolotsky of San Francisco. He is the brother of Dr. Irena Vaksman of New York. Grandparents are Drs. Lia and Arkady Shusterman of Burlingame, and the late Polina and Yakov Pavolotsky. Matron of honor was Melinda Slatt-Friedeberg. Best man was Steve Koffeld.
