Active in the Embroidery Guild in San Mateo. Lifelong activist in Democratic Party. Worked for family business, Dependable Furniture in S.F., and with her husband at Barnal Furniture Co. in S.F. Brother-in-law of Celia Bronstein, Manuel (and Maureen) Rosen, Anita Heyman and the late Arthur (and Florence) Rosen. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Grew up in Petaluma where his family had a chicken ranch. Studied business at U.C. Berkeley. In 1947 founded Bronstein & Associates Insurance Brokers. Mentor to Russian emigres and volunteer at Jewish Home for 14 years. Attended Yiddish classes for 20 years. Spanish speaker. Traveled to South America. Private family services were held. Served on the San Mateo County Grand Jury, the San Mateo County Juvenile Justice Commission and the Foster City Planning Commission. As a construction project manager, built the Cathedral Hill West tower, the Oak Creek Apartment complex, the Park Newport Apartment Complex, the Lake Merced Hill condominiums and the Levi Plaza office complex in San Francisco, and many others.
