Becker, Blossom. In Gig Harbor, Wash., while visiting family, Sept. 11. Age 84. Wife of the late Leo Becker. Mother of Stephen (and Beverly) Becker, Debbie (and Dan) Raas, and Andy Becker (and Donna Fisher). Daughter of Joe and Ida Goldberg. Sister of Mickey (and Jean) Goldberg. Grandmother of Beth and Adam Raas, Matthew and Samuel Becker, and Joseph Becker. Aunt and cousin to many. Born in San Francisco. Lived in San Mateo Park for over 70 years. In 2002 moved to The Magnolia of Millbrae. Graduate of U.C. Berkeley. Traveled the world and the western United States. Anti-draft counselor during Vietnam War. Active in the Embroidery Guild in San Mateo. Lifelong activist in Democratic Party. Worked for family business, Dependable Furniture in S.F., and with her husband at Barnal Furniture Co. in S.F. Former member of Peninsula Temple Beth El in San Mateo. Services were held at Hills of Eternity on Sept. 13. Donations to John Kerry for President campaign or a charity of your choice. Bronstein, Sidney. In San Mateo, Sept. 6. Age 92. Husband of Jeanette Bronstein for 65 years. Father of Howard (and Sarita) Bronstein and Debbie Fithian. Grandfather of Charlie (and Mariela) Fithian, Sarah Fithian, and Zachary and Rebecca Bronstein. Brother of the late Milton Bronstein. Brother-in-law of Celia Bronstein, Manuel (and Maureen) Rosen, Anita Heyman and the late Arthur (and Florence) Rosen. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Grew up in Petaluma where his family had a chicken ranch. Studied business at U.C. Berkeley. In 1947 founded Bronstein & Associates Insurance Brokers. Mentor to Russian emigres and volunteer at Jewish Home for 14 years. Attended Yiddish classes for 20 years. Spanish speaker. Traveled to South America. Private family services were held. Ossin, Sarah. In San Francisco, Sept. 22. Age 95. Wife of the late Joseph Ossin. Mother of Esther (and Don) Woll and Archie (and Myrna) Ossin. Grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of three. Services held at Eternal Home Cemetery Chapel, Colma, under the direction of Sinai Memorial Chapel.

Port, Leonard L. In Foster City, Sept. 20. Age 79. Husband of Lillian Lee Port. Father of Deborah Penny (and Dick) Bennett, Jerri Susan Port and Andrew I. (and Debbie) Port. Grandfather of Lisa, Amy and John Bennett and Jessica and Aaron Port. Brother of Harold Port and Shirley Brazin. Cousin of Arthur (and Phyllis) Greenberg. Native of New York. Served on the San Mateo County Grand Jury, the San Mateo County Juvenile Justice Commission and the Foster City Planning Commission. As a construction project manager, built the Cathedral Hill West tower, the Oak Creek Apartment complex, the Park Newport Apartment Complex, the Lake Merced Hill condominiums and the Levi Plaza office complex in San Francisco, and many others. In retirement proprietor with his wife of California School Law Publishers. Private family services were held at Skylawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Solomon, Professor Herbert. In Stanford, Sept. 20. Husband of Lottie Solomon. Father of Mark J. (and Carolyn) Solomon, Jed E. (and Leslie) Solomon and the late Naomi L. Solomon. Grandfather of Nathaniel, Daniel, Jacob and Sara Solomon. Brother of Seymour and Henry Solomon. Native of New York and longtime professor of mathematical statistics at Stanford University. Services were held at Congregation Beth Am in Los Altos Hills with private burial in Hills of Eternity Cemetery, Colma. Donations to the Naomi L.
