Earned law degree in 1931. Practiced law until retirement in 1983. City attorney of Marshalltown and attorney for Marshalltown School District. Member of American College of Trial Lawyers. Spearheaded establishment of Sons of Israel synagogue in Marshalltown. Headed annual fund-raising campaigns for United Jewish Appeal for 50 years. Appointed to the national board of UJA and received award for service. Member of Congregation Beth Am in Los Altos Hills. Supporter of many philanthropic causes. Resident of Palo Alto for 13 years.
