Lantos heads campaign to solve Wallenberg mystery
Marking the 60th anniversary of the disappearance of Raoul Wallenberg, U.S. Rep. Tom Lantos (D-San Mateo) and his wife, Annette, will head a new international campaign to honor the Swedish diplomat.
The International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation is launching the campaign to obtain 100,000 signatures, to be presented to United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan, urging him to find the answer to the mystery of Wallenberg’s disappearance.
The 100,000 names directly correspond with the 100,000 individuals, mostly Jewish, that Wallenberg saved during the Holocaust. He was captured by the Soviets just after the war, never to be seen again. Wallenberg is one of few individuals granted honorary U.S. citizenship.

S.F. prayer group changes venues
The Circle Minyan has moved from Congregation Beth Sholom to Keneset HaLev in San Francisco. The prayer group will meet 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, at the Synergy School, 1387 Valencia St.
The minyan, which meets quarterly, uses its own siddur. Services are conducted in the round, and meetings are followed by a vegetarian potluck. Information: (415) 339-SHUL.
Ayn Sof moves to Fort Mason
Ayn Sof Kabbalah Community has moved most of its gatherings to the Fort Mason Center in San Francisco, where they will continue for the foreseeable future.
“Kabbalah 101” will take place on the first Friday of each month, and “Kabbalah in the City” will be on the third Friday of each month.
