After amassing a mountain of data in his 2004 Bay Area Jewish population survey, demographer Bruce Phillips and others involved with the study are left with many questions. Among them:

• How can Jewish institutions better aid a larger and more dispersed community?

• How should Jewish education be altered to account for the fact more children are raised in mixed-marriages than by two Jews?

• How can the Jewish community reach out to single-individual households?

• To what extent are poor Jews shut out of communal life?

• How can the Jewish community better involve cultural subgroups such as Israeli, Russian or LGBT households?
